Relationship - How To Find Your Perfect Partner
Still searching for that 'perfect partner' of your dreams? Then here is what to do, to avoid an endless search for Love!
Still searching for that perfect partner of your dreams; a 'Knight-in-shining-amour' that bestows everlasting sunshine upon your life; a ready-made perfect gentleman that meets all your 'daughter-of-eve' expectations?
Forget it! He doesn’t even exist! And that’s because he is just a pigment of your own imagination. You can’t find a 'perfect' partner anywhere in the world, but you certainly can find a partner that's right for you. And that is what you should be looking for, if you must avoid an endless search for love.
So, instead of looking for that elusive perfect gentleman that you may never find, focus on finding a man that is right for you. Re-adjust your expectations! Get rid of that fairy-tale 'perfect-man-checklist' in your brain, and instead adopt the real world 'right-man' checklist below:
Go for a Man you can love with all your heart.
Go for a Man who accepts you for the person you are.
Go for a Man who accepts you just the way you are.
Go for a man whose presence makes you happy.
Go for a Man whose presence keeps you comfortable.
Here is Bob Marley's take on this:
He's not perfect. You aren't either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can.
He isn't going to quote poetry, he's not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don't hurt him, don't change him, and don't expect for more than he can give.
Don't analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he's not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don't exist, but there's always one guy that is perfect for you." …Bob Marley
Ironically, it is the anticipated joy and satisfaction to be derived if these elusive expectations are met, that spur us to keep searching for the perfect partner! However, if you want to be happy in any relationship, if you want your relationship to grow and mature, you must adjust and manage your expectations from such relationship.
The less you expect, the less disappoints you'll get; and therefore the happier you’ll likely be. Your insistence on always having our expectations met will lead to unhappiness and disillusionment. To create and enjoy a great relationship, simply purge yourself of the Perfect Partner mentality.
